Since May of 2022 we have been engaged in the creation of a documentary film that will showcase the holistic ideology known as Neohumanism. Developed in 1982 by the philosopher and social reformer P.R. Sarkar, Neohumanism is a transformative philosophy for our time that honors values of humanism such as reason, ethics, and the rights of all humans to thrive, but broadens their application to encompass a universalistic perspective that includes plants, animals, ecosystems – all of creation, underpinned by a sense of interconnectedness and responsibility.
This inclusive worldview penetrates into the root causes of personal and societal conflict and offers solutions through holistic education, rationality, compassion, and loving service to all. Grounded in time-proven and life-affirming spiritual practices, Neohumanism’s intention is to inspire and empower the evolving individual to live in the world as a new kind of mystic: discerning, adaptable, filled with love for all creation, and actively involved in bringing about a more equitable, just and sustainable world.
As of April 2025, our camera has documented Neohumanist projects in seventeen locations worldwide—from a thriving animal sanctuary in Oregon to the delivery of food and shelter materials to refugees fleeing persecution and violence in Myanmar, and from a holistic preschool in the mountains of North Carolina, to a brilliant psychologist doing trauma relief work in an active war zone in Ukraine.
Our vision is to share these inspiring projects through a beautifully crafted and deeply compelling 40-minute National Geographic-style documentary titled “Neohumanism: Path of Awakening and Benevolence.” This film will be distributed via platforms including Curiosity Stream, YouTube, SAND, and at conferences, community gatherings and film festivals worldwide. We also plan to create a series of short films for YouTube and social media sharing. And finally, our filming will result in a vast archive of high quality HD video, preserving for the first time ever these life affirming, life enhancing projects and the inspiring individuals who have brought them into being.
